Sweet Charity Smoothie

Giving to charity is always a nice thing to do so I'm not knocking Tesco for supporting diabetes uk, but the product used to support a diabetes charity is loaded with sugar... this is silliness

This one 250ml bottle has 33g sugar... on the plus side there isn't any added sugar on the ingredients list :) and theres almost 2g fibre, which is better than none for this type of product. But to be honest I'd rather get 145 calories from some where else.

I was confused my the ingredients list as the amounts do not add up to 100%

Apple Juice (39%),Banana Purée ,Rhubarb Juice (17%) ,Aronia Juice (1.5%) ,Vanilla Extract (0.09%)

Ambrosia Devon Dream

As a LCHFer I love a bit of cream, particularly double cream... yum. So when I saw an advert for Ambrosia Devon Dream I though YES! This was partly because I had misread Devon Dream as Devon Cream... This got me thinking, why was it called Dream and not Cream. I know that cream substitute Elmlea just describes itself as double or single without the word cream. This worried me, was Ambrosia Double Dream just another whipped up vegetable fat? The short answer is yes, kind of :(  sad I know.

Here are the ingredients
Skimmed Milk,Buttermilk ,Sugar ,Modified Starch ,Vegetable Oil ,Whey ,Natural Flavouring ,Colours (Curcumin, Annatto) ,Total Milk Content: 75%

Yuk Sugar, Modified Starch, Vegetable Oil... no thanks
